Popis: During the last years, the Golden Tower (Seville) has been the object of several studies and researches which have revealed considerable data about its history, architecture, constructive details, characterization of the design materials, surrounding environment and its consequences for the conservation of this monument. It could be said, then, that a great knowledge of the building from the base to the top has been achieved, but indeed there is not enough information about the aspects relative to the foundations, sizing, composition, constituent materials and their characteristics, condition of the preservation, or even the mounting plate and its geotectonic characteristics such as the bearing capacity, deformities, abasement in a short or long period, etc. There have been two geotectonic investigations in the years 1976 and 2000 obtaining precise and reliable data about the foundations and mounting plate, as well as those data relative to the development of the foundations and its typology modifications in order to improve stability. This research has been possible, thanks to the authorization and collaboration of the Navy Command Headquarters and the Engineering Company VORSEVI, offering its necessary staff and technical implementation for this research.
