Popis: | Analysis is given to the relationship between the experimental spectra of the complex permittivity of electrolyte solutions in the region of the main water dispersion peak and their quasioptical coefficients and radio-brightness characteristics in the millimeter wavelength range. It is inferred that intrinsic radiation coefficients of solutions and their quasioptical parameters can show unlike-sign changes as compared to water depending on the degree of ion hydration. At strong hydration (ions of lithium, sodium, etc.) the radiation coefficients increase with increasing concentration, while at weak hydration (ions of potassium, cesium, etc.) they drop. It is shown to arise primarily from the relation of the ion and dipole losses of the dielectric spectrum characteristic of the millimeter range. |
