Silver samples electrochemically treated with cyanide exhibit surface enhanced Raman spectra of silver cyanide complexes when examined in air. Surface enhancement is observed from [Ag(CN) 3 ] 2− before rinsing and [Ag(CN) 3 ] − after rinsing. A bulk overlayer of [Ag(CN) 2 ] − is removed by the rinse. All lines are red-shifted when Na + counter ions are replaced by K + . |
