Popis: This paper describes the performance results obtained during the tests, performed in an Outdoor Test Range sited in San Benedetto del Tronto, of an innovative X Band 2D radar based on a circular shaped antenna capable of the creation of a large number of simultaneous staring beams. This solution, otherwise called ubiquitous radar, offers a number of advantages wrt conventional approaches normally adopted for the bidimensional radar coverage. Among these the most important are the prolonged time on target which allows an optimum clutter filtering leaving unchanged the detectability of slowly moving targets, the refresh rate of the detections which permits a very accurate tracking of the target movement and a fast reaction in case of need, the low ERP compensated by the long integration time which implies a low observability of the radiating antenna. The paper shows the results of the tests aimed at the verification of the previously mentioned advantages of the proposed solution.
