Popis: A most important task for those researching the history of the working class of Russia is identifying proletarians and semi-proletarians within it, and in particular studying its most organized and advanced components, which took the lead in the revolutionary struggle, the factory-plant proletariat. The shortcomings of prerevolutionary factory-plant statistics, to which V. I. Lenin often pointed, limit the possibility of compiling an exact characterization of the size and quality of the composition of the factory-plant proletariat.
