Popis: As renewable energy plays a vital role in today’s world, this paper presents a non-pollutant renewable source namely the fuel cell-fed DC-DC converter. Fuel cell is an electrochemical cell that produces electrical energy from a chemical reaction. Here, a superlift DC-DC converter is interfaced with a fuel cell and simulated. As the output voltage is solely dependent on the fuel cell voltage, the characteristics of the fuel cell is predicted by carrying out dynamic analysis. It reveals the mathematical model of fuel cell which portrays its behavioral nature. Different types of fuel cells are considered, but proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell is chosen because of its efficient characteristics. Simulation is done using MATLAB, and the results are validated with the theoretical calculations.
