Popis: | The behavior of the external respiratory system was described by a set of differential equations. The system was solved by digital computer, to express the relationship between stationary cycle blood gas tensions and fixed cardiac and respiratory parameters. Dynamic respiratory maneuvers were simulated for different values of these parameters to investigate the feasibility of estimating cardiac output, respiratory dead space, and ventilation-perfusion distribution, from flow and composition of expired air, using non-linear regression techniques. |
