Popis: Aniseikonia is the condition of asymmetry in the relative size and shape of the ocular images and is a frequent cause of ocular discomfort continuing after correction of ordinary refractive errors and phorias. A discussion of the first 60 cases is given; also the prerequisites for the test, the technique of the examination with a description of the instrument (ophthalmo-eikonometer), and a descripion of the type of lenses and principles involved in the correction of the asymmetry of the size of the ocular images found in the examination. The cases were referred by oculists in New York and vicinity because of continuing discomfort after they had carried out the ordinary procedures. For 62 percent of these patients total relief was obtained, 10 percent were considerably improved and 28 percent not materially helped. From the Aniseikonia Department of New York University Medical School.
