Popis: | The world's population is expected to increase by 2 billion by 2030, with most of the increase being absorbed into urban areas. In that time the urban population of the developing world is expected to double. The tactical and operational difficulties of urban combat are well documented. This paper assesses the likely security environment in 2020 and analyzes the impact of urbanization at the strategic level on the diplomatic, informational, military and economic instruments of power. |
