Popis: | A 2D numerical analysis has been performed to simulate melt puddle during melt spinning process. A stable puddle forms by 10 milliseconds for all the process conditions except for pressures higher than 17.23 kPa. The analysis confirms that ejection temperatures show lowest significance of only 3% change in thickness among all the process parameters. While increase in pressure, gap and slit width thickness increases nearly 25 to 30% in the selected range and higher wheel speeds are instrumental in producing thinner ribbons. Experimental and numerical values of thickness are well in comparison. |
