Popis:	Epoxide opening reactions with indole are efficiently accelerated under high pressure conditions in the presence of a catalytic amount of ytterbium(III) trifluoromethanesulfonate to afford tryptophol derivatives. The procedure is successfully applied for an enantioselective synthesis of (+)-diolmycin A2.
