Popis:	In 2017, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved an immunotherapeutic treatment, called CAR-T therapy, for two kinds of blood cancers — acute leukemia (ALL) and a lymphoma. We describe: 1) how CAR-T therapies (are believed to) work; 2) foundational advances and discoveries (through the 1980s); 3) the development of CAR-T therapy (during and after the 1990s); and 4) prospects for the 2020s.
