Popis:	A new method was developed to enumerate radiation-resistant, nonsporeforming bacteria. Micrococcus spp. and two isolates of the Moraxella-Acinetobacter group were used as representatives of radiation-resistant bacteria. Soil samples were used to provide spores of a mixed flora. Samples were prepared in reconstituted nonfat dry milk solids, litmus milk and meat serum to evaluate the method in a food system. Three doses of 300 Krad each, separated with 1 hr incubations between each dose, were found to produce a maximum reduction in spores with a minimum reduction in radiation-resistant bacteria.
