This article presents a teleassistant system for blind people used to navigate in urban space. The system uses a smartphone, Intel RealSense depth camera and a dedicated Red5 server. The data sent from the depth camera allows for accurate measurement of the distance between the blind person and the obstacles, which improves the reliability of their navigation. The transmission quality was ensured through the use of the 5G network, which was launched at the Lodz University of Technology. The article also presents short overview of new generation of the telecommunications network − 5G technology. |
