Popis: | An alleged collateral effect of using facilitated communication with individuals with autism is improved social behavior (Biklen, 1993). In response to this purported effect, we report findings of an empirical study undertaken to assess concomitant behavioral outcomes associated with using facilitated communication as an instructional tool with individuals with autism. Results of this study are accompanied by a discussion of possible advantages and disadvantages of using facilitated communication. |
