Popis: | The use of regenerative braking within the industry of transportation has recently garnered interest within the maritime industry. This paper presented a novel technique for regerneartive breaking with applications to maritime industry. The dynamic braking system is implemented by controlling a separately excited DC (SEDC) brushed machine. A control strategy using real-time microcontrollers is developed in order to implement the proposed method. In addition, the user interface (UI) is used to aid the process of regenerative braking and to generate and store power from maritime cargo ship cranes. The proposed regenerative system is applied to place large shipping containers onto a cargo ship and battery banks are used as storage units. An experimental setup is performed and utilized to demonstrate the impacts and results of the proposed dynamic braking system. The results are reported and thoroughly discussed. |
