Investigation of Ultra-Wide Band Local Positioning System Accuracy Using Precise Laser Equipment

Popis: In this paper accuracy of ultra-wide band local positioning system is investigated. This work is organized as follows: firstly, relevance of carried out research is justified in Introduction, purpose of studies and tasks for achieving it are presented in second section Problem statement, system overview and its operation principle is explained in third section (System overview), anchor deployment technique using two laser levels and one laser rangefinder with experimental set-ups and results of conducted field experiment are described in fourth and fifth sections (Experiment methodology and Experiment results) respectively and, finally, conclusions about experiment and direction of future work are provided in the last section (Conclusion). The overall value of the average norm of positioning error for the entire work area was 15.6 cm, standard deviation of positioning error – 5.8 cm, level 0.95 confidence interval for positioning error-24.6 cm.
