Popis:	This is the first of five papers constituting a synopsis of the family Calymperaceae for Australia. An expanded concept of the family is followed, including Arthrocormus, Exostratum and Leucophanes as well as the traditional genera Calymperes, Mitthyridium and Syrrhopodon. A key to genera is provided.
