Popis:	SUMMARY The etiology of a new leaf spot disease on king protea was investigated. The causal organism was a Gram negative rod-shaped bacterium with between two and seven flagella. On the basis of cultural, biochemical and physiological characters it was identified as a pathovar of Pseudomonas syringae.
