Popis: This chapter provides a background on the International Competition Network (ICN) that was launched in 2001. It explains that ICN is a trans-national network of most national competition authorities (NCAs) from around the world that focuses exclusively on competition law and policy. It also mentions non-governmental actors (NGAs), such as major corporations, law firms, and academics that support and contribute to ICN discussions. The chapter describes ICN as a forum where competition experts discuss ways to improve competition policy and produce products, including an array of surveys, guides, model forms and principles. It points out that international organisations, such as the World Bank, UNCTAD, and OECD are often involved with ICN, however, only NCAs can be its members.
