Thank you for your warm reception and for honoring me by choosing me to be your president. I am especially appreciative since 1990 is a year whose beginning marks a new decade and whose end will mark a new millennium. I want to share with you a challenge, a charge, and a vision—a uniquely American vision of access to quality health care for every citizen of this great country. It is a vision that will lead our health care system into the 21st century and whose ultimate realization will be based on three critical factors: dreams, dollars, and deeds.
