Popis: | A high-purity sample of GeS2 was prepared by combining the elements. A fluorine bombcalorimetric study of the reaction: GeS2(cr) + 8F2(g) = GeF4(g) + 2SF6(g), gave) for the standard (po = 101325 Pa) molar enthalpy of formation: ΔfHmo(GeS2, cr, 298.15 K) = −(124.7 ± 2.6) kJ · mol−1. This result does not agree with most of the earlier high-temperature measurements. Two recent studies, however, give ΔfHmo(GeS2) that agrees with the result obtained here. The standard molar Gibbs energy of formation ΔfGmo(GeS2, cr, 298.15 K) is calculated to be −(124.2 ± 2.6) kJ · mol−1. Based upon a comparison of bond enthalpies, the enthalpy of atomization of PbS2, ΔatHmo(PbS2), has been estimated to be (546 ± 20) kJ · mol−1. |
