This study proposes a novel sensor device adopted with a nematic liquid crystal Fabry-Perot (NLC FP) resonator. The NLC FP filter can be a good solution due to its simplicity, compactness, easy fabrication, and high wavelength selectivity. Moreover, the director of the LCs can be controlled by applying an electric field because LCs have high dielectric anisotropy. A sensor system can be constructed which detects temperature variations only by measuring an applied voltage necessary for compensating the thermal effects. |
