Popis: This study explores differences between liking and romantic interest based on incentive-sensitization theory. In terms of the predictors for liking as well as romantic interest and their relative importance, the results showed that individual perceived intimacy (subjective intimacy) was more important for liking than romantic interest; among personality factors, agreeableness was the most important for liking , and openness was the most important for romantic interest. In terms of the effect for the laboratory-manipulated type of self-disclosure (objective intimacy) on liking and romantic interest, both of liking and romantic interest produced an experimental dissociation on self-disclosure, which was self-disclosure (objective intimacy) had a significant effect only on liking but not romantic interest . This study differentiates liking and romantic interest from theoretical and empirical aspects, providing deeper insights into the formation of romantic relationships.
