Popis: two factors, viz., the energy required to remove a hydrogen atom from the solvent and the solubility of oxygen in it. In the case of highly reactive compounds with a lowest Tn~, level (benzophenone) the first is probably the major factor, since Km(ethanol) > Km(cyclohexane) > Km(water) , which is in accord with [3,5]. In the case of 4-hydroxybenzophenone, which has a lowest Tct state, Km(water) > Km(ethanol), since the second factor is of greater importance: Oxygen greatly inhibits photodestruction in ethanol, in which it is much more readily soluble than in water [ll].
