Popis: The Anthropocene has recently been defined as a new geological era characterized by unprecedented human impacts on the environment. These impacts have long-lasting effects such as widespread biodiversity loss, which threaten our well-being and future. To halt biodiversity loss, we need to identify the key drivers of extinction. We must recognize which are the most sensitive species and the worse threats. Here we summarize the known drivers of extinction from a broad point of view. If we want to revert the present crisis this knowledge is the pillar on which to focus our attention and plan our actions.
