Popis: | The multi path reflections severely affects the tracking performance of a monopulse receiver at millimeter wave frequencies. Depending on the roughness of the surface, the reflections can be specular or diffuse but mostly a combination the two. In addition, the reflections can enter in-beam as well as out-of-beam (through side-lobes). At Ka-band frequencies even a smooth sea appears to be a very rough surface. In the model, the two axis monopulse receiver's performance is defined with the various features of ‘S’ curve which is a resultant of monopulse antenna patterns and receiver components. The parameters of the model include antenna sum and difference patterns, cross-talk, S-curve saturation, S-curve dispersion, S-curve reverse slopes, S-curve compression, boresight noise, effect of limited S/N ratio, error output filters etc. The mathematical model helps to predict the receiver performance subjected to these cumulative effects and it can be used to study various schemes that can be used to mitigate th... |
