Popis: | The effect of converter thickness on the ƒ- factor used in the IEC method has been investigated for a particular geometry at energies of 300, 340, 364, and 412 keV and with seven different converters with thickness ranging from 0.39 to 3.71 mg/cm 2 . The known K-shell conversion coefficients of the 364 keV transition in 131 Xe and the 412 keV transition in 198 Hg were used to calculate ƒ. The experimental results differ greatly from scatter-corrected calculations of ƒ. |
