Popis: | To understand the modes of action of hormone-type herbicides in more detail, the effect of these herbicides on H+ excretion and anthocyanin synthesis was studied to complement the findings on ethylene production and growth promotion investigated in our previous report. The patterns of activities of hormone-type herbicides in four biological tests (ethylene production, growth, H+ excretion and anthocyanin synthesis tests) were discussed. Although the compounds studied in this report are classified as hormone-type, they displayed different patterns of activities. While the activity of dicamba for inducing ethylene production was stronger than that of IAA, its activity for promoting H+ excretion was weaker than IAA. While quinclorac induced growth curvature at a lower concentration than IAA, it showed weaker activity for inducing ethylene production and H+ excretion. |
