| Popis: | In MgO; an OH- impurity ion substituting for O2- may associate with a cation vacancy to give the array O [ = ] HO+. (Here only effective charges are shown.) A positive hole may then be trapped on the oxygen atom to give the VOH center O+ [ = ] HO+. ENDOR studies verify the geometry of this defect in CaO. |
