Popis: Scientists have a great orientation to discover, develop, and optimize any kind of renewable energy resources and related systems to extract as much power as possible with reducing carbon emission rather than employing conventional and highly harmful polluters such as fossil fuels. Hydrogen energy is considered a clean and sustainable power source and its production process has received huge attention among numerous researchers. Despite its lower energy density, its advantages like less pollution and environmental impacts, convenient operation, less self-discharge, the competitive cost concerning other renewable resources and a term long lasting override a few drawbacks. Many processes have been suggested for hydrogen production in which electrolysis is very common and pivotally important. There are three main ways to generate hydrogen according to the electrolyzer method: alkaline electrolyzer (AE), proton exchange membrane electrolyzer (PEME), and solid oxide electrolyzer (SOE). In this chapter, the mentioned methods are thoroughly and individually studied in terms of mathematical modeling. Renewable energy resources including solar energy and wind energy for hydrogen production along with their mathematical modeling are also discussed. These systems produce power and fuel simultaneously and scientists mainly focus on efficiency and production amount increment as well as reduction in energy generation cost.
