Popis: | Connected vehicles communication (V2X) is a new intelligent transportation system paradigm that aims to improve traffic safety and efficiency by using wireless communications. The main motivation behind the development of V2X is public safety applications by providing information and assistance to road users to prevent road accidents. This chapter starts by presenting an overview of two leading wireless technologies for connected vehicles, namely DSRC/WAVE and LTE-Advanced. We show their advantages and limits for achieving the required large-scale deployment of V2X networks. Then, we propose new mobility schemes for LTE-femtocells using X2-based local traffic forwarding to minimize signalling toward the core network and to reduce the latency for different backhaul technologies. |
