Popis: | The integration of Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) study with the Decision-Matrix Risk Assessment (DMRA) technique and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) as well, is proposed as a new framework for identifying critical points and potential hazards and also prioritizing risks, in industry. Therefore, the objective of this article is the development and application of the extended HAZOP-DMRA-AHP approach (E-HAZOP) in process industries. Initially, the application of the conventional HAZOP study is performed (as a case study) in a sour crude-oil processing-plant in order to identify the possible fault causes of abnormal conditions (deviations) in the plant. With the results of the HAZOP study on the one hand, and the usage of the DMRA risk assessment technique for assessing the risks, on the other side, the typical AHP process is then introduced, in order to extend HAZOP analysis by prioritizing the risks in the worksite of the plant. The proposed E-HAZOP framework can provide a trustworthy basis to boost process safety and improve occupational health and safety. Moreover, it could be a useful tool for the decision makers to estimate the emergency of investing constrained budget in actions preventing specific kind of deviations. |
