Popis:	Phenyl substituted α- (PhC(O)C(O)R) and β-diketones (PhC(O)CHRC(O)R′) are reduced by carbon monoxide and water in the presence of elemental selenium to give the corresponding aromatic ketones in moderate to good yields.
