Popis: The demographics of aging in the Western world have not excluded the alcoholic. Persons who suffer from alcoholism currently live longer. In addition, there is a tendency for more individuals to become alcoholic during later life. Although the problem appears to be readily definable, it is often hidden, confused, or neglected. Elderly men who have lost their spouses are particularly at risk and have the highest rate of new alcoholism.
