To reduce the iron loss of a three-phase reactor composed of Grain-oriented silicon steel plates, we proposed two reactor models: applying oblique joints between the legs and yokes, and applying isotropic brick iron cores at the L and T shaped joints. The effectiveness of the proposed models are investigated through magnetic field and iron loss analyses considering the anisotropic magnetic characteristics. It is found that the iron loss of the proposed model with isotropic butt joints can be about 12 % reduced compared with the ordinary one. |
