Popis: | In this paper, a novel interference aware, energy efficient resource allocation scheme based on signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) rank restrictions is proposed for beyond next generation mobile networks. The relationship between the choice of base stations (when their ranking and selection is based on SINR) and inter-cell interference is examined. It is observed that lower SINR choices result in higher interference in the network and vice versa. Based on the observed relationship, the capability of the proposed scheme to mitigate inter-cell interference and achieve energy saving is evaluated with different SINR based choice restriction policies. The energy efficiency and quality of service (QoS) performance of the proposed scheme is compared with schemes without interference awareness features. The results show that the proposed scheme can achieve up to 65% energy savings at low offered traffic and can also provide significantly higher QoS over a wide range of traffic loads than the schemes without interference awareness. |
