Popis: | Sir, We are writing to advise care in the placement of intermaxillary fixation screws. This is an invasive procedure compared to other methods of temporary intermaxillary fixation. We agree with Messrs Holmes and Hutchison1 in that inexperienced surgeons often place these screws. It is quite easy for the unwary to cause damage to the teeth in the arch, probably more so than to damage to the screw itself. We would like to present a case report, which illustrates the ease with which damage can be caused. |
