Popis: | The spin–spin interactions in the [Al2Er2 (µ3-OH)2(L)2(O2CPh-Me-p)6]·2MeCN compound are studied by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) on polycrystalline samples in different frequency ranges. The features of the shape of the EPR spectra of the compound built up of Al2Er2 clusters are analyzed and the EPR spectra are simulated with a spin Hamiltonian that also takes into account the dipole–dipole interaction between neighboring clusters. It is shown that the spin–spin interactions have a predominantly Ising form with the parameters of the intracluster interaction Jzz = 0.3 cm−1 and intercluster interaction J′zz = 0.2 cm−1. The results are compared with those for the previously studied isostructural compound with DyIII ions. The possible effect of differences in exchange and dipole interactions on the relaxation features of these compounds is discussed. |
