On the Possibility of Use of Planar Dielectric Resonators for Solving the Problems of Frequency Stabilization of Millimeter Waves Oscillators

Popis: Frequency stabilization is a one of problem of powerful active millimeter wave solid-state devices. To solve this problem author propose small-sized ultra-thin planar dielectric resonator. In this paper shown that proposed stabilizing system thereby increasing short-term and long-term stability of the generation frequency of Gunn-diode generator. Electron frequency tuning of the Gunn oscillator stabilized by the planar DR is shown. The application of the described circuit allows one to achieve mutual synchronization of the generation frequency of the Gunn diode and the eigen modes of the whisper gallery modes. The results of research of power generation and frequency stability of the Gunn-diode stabilized by ultra-thin planar dielectric resonator are presented. They show that the high efficiency of electromagnetic coupling between the field of operating whispering gallery modes in resonator and Gunn-diode is provided.
