A Meshfree Method Based on Integrated Radial Basis Functions for 2D Hyperelastic Bodies

Popis: This paper presents a meshfree method based on integrated radial basis functions (iRBF) for hyperelastic bodies with compressible and nearly-incompressible behavior. The neo-Hookean model is used for hyperelastic material and the nonlinear elastic behavior of 2D bodies are simulated under finite deformation state with total Lagrange formulation. In the approximation of field nodes, the present iRBF shape functions are constructed through integration. With the property of damping out or at least containing an inherent inaccuracy, the iRBF produces a greatly improved approximation of its derivatives. Moreover, the meshfree numerical approach shows its advantage to analyze large deformation problems by the feature of “free of mesh”, especially it does not suffer from the volumetric locking. A number of numerical examples are given to compare the results of the proposed method with the reference solutions given by other methods.
