Popis: | Acoustic bulk cavitation is an important part of a large number of applications, such as shock wave lithotripsy, shock wave histotripsy, ultrasonic cleaning, and shallow underwater explosions. However, high amplitudes and short timescales inherent make an accurate measurement of this phenomenon difficult. This paper describes an experimental apparatus and procedures used to quantify acoustic bulk cavitation. The experimental and data processing techniques are presented, with potential applications to other experiments. Preliminary analysis is presented which correlates the size of the acoustic bulk cavitation extent with the measured pressure field. |
