Popis: 1. 1. Decreases in heart rate accompanied spontaneous appendage movement and tactile stimulation in restrained Limulus polyphemus. 2. 2. Recordings of efferent activity in segmental cardiac nerves No. 9 and No. 10 show spikes of 1–5 different heights. 3. 3. Spike activity did not show any relationship to heart rate. except in animals with fluctuating heart rate. 4. 4. Tactile stimulation of gills caused cardioinhibition and increased or decreased the firing rates of different spikes. 5. 5. Acetylcholine perfusion of the first two abdominal ganglia increased heart rate and the spiking activities of nerves No. 9 and No. 10. 6. 6. It is suggested that these nerves contain cardioinhibitory and cardioacceleratory fibers.
