Popis: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the resection of small masses of residual NSGCT and subsequent therapy. If, following chemotherapy of NSGCT, small residual tumor masses are seen on CT-scanning, surgical excision is generally accepted as the next option. The finding of histologically viable cancer cells usually implies two additional cycles of chemotherapy. At all times, the decisions must be balanced against the morbidity—acute and late—and mortality of any further treatment. There might be a place for a more expectant policy in some patients. A number of the decisions might need reconsideration. Retrospective and prospective analyses of a large database might help to identify evidence needed to take the right decisions for a type of cancer that has been considered as a model for cancer treatment.
