A general formulation and method for solving viscous, radiating, non-similar boundary-layer flows is developed and applied to both the stagnation region and a flat plate. The formulation and solutions provide for an emitting and absorbing gas including the entire range of optical thicknesses, from thin to thick. Results indicate the direct contribution of radiation to the net heat flux as well as the decrease of temperatures, their gradients and the related conductive heat transfer to the wall. |
