Popis: The plasticizing and “antiplasticizing” effect of moisture on polycaproamide was established. The addition of moisture displaces the glass temperature T g of the polymer to lower temperature and reduces the dynamic shear modulus G ′ above T g , which is typical of plasticization. Below T g on the other hand, the addition of moisture increases G ′, i.e. produces an effect typical of “antiplasticization”. Based on analysing temperature dependence of the low-frequency rate of sound c t and mechanical loss tan δ in the glass transition range several levels of supermolecular organization of PCA plasticized by moisture below T g were proposed.
