Flow injection analysis of aromatic sulphonyl haloamines

Popis: Flow-injection determination of chloramine-T, dichloramine-T, dibromamine-T, bromamine-T, chloramine-B, dichloramine-B, dibromamine-B, bromamine-B and dichloramine-N in solution, through a spectrophotometric procedure is described. A simplified flow-injection apparatus with a two-channel system is employed. The carrier streams are starch-KI mixture (0.5∶5.0%) and 1 M H2SO4 and are merged before injection of haloamine. A sampling frequency of 280h−1 has been achieved. The effect of reagent concentrations, flow parameters and interferents on the analysis has been investigated. Concentrations of haloamines were in the range of 1–60 ppm.
