Popis: A high-resolution neutron TOF facility has been developed and optimized for use at the Fast Neutron Research Facility (FNRF), Chiang Mai University. A pulsed neutron burst of 1.5 ns width was successfully obtained at 2-MHz maximum pulsing rate and average deuteron current of about 30 μA. Liquid scintillator 25.0 cm diameter by 10.0 cm thick is located at an extended flight path of 10 m inside a well-shielded tunnel. A new-collimating and shielding system along the flight path has been constructed to reduce some in scattered backgrounds. A fixed detector station and a sample rotation technique provides the capability of measuring scattered neutrons over an angular range of 20 to 160 degrees. The overall timing resolution of the system is about 3.3 ns corresponding to an energy-resolution of 485-keV at 14-MeV neutron energy.
