Popis: | Venous aneurysm can develop in an irreversible and meandering manner or as diffuse or localized lesions. This aneurysm occurs often in the lower extremities and upper alimentary organs, but very rarely develops in the head and neck. This paper describes a rare venous aneurysm of the retromandibular vein in a 74-year-old man.The patient was introduced to our department because of sudden expansion of a slightly elastic hard tumorous lesion in the paotid region. The lesion was a movable mass on palpation. Computed tomography revealed a cystic lesion with a relatively sharp margin, clinically suspected to be Warthin's tumor. During surgery, a venous aneurysm was strongly suspected, and the diagnosis was confirmed histopathologically. |
