| Popis: | Diffusion and premixed flames of fluorine and steam were produced and investigated. The ignition limits of the fluorine-steam mixture were found to be at ∼19 and ∼95 mole per cent fluorine, at 100°C initial temperature and 1 atm pressure (absolute). The maximum burning velocity, 810 ± 10 cm/sec, was that of the mixture containing 47·5 mole per cent fluorine, and 52·2 mole per cent steam. The conflicting information in the literature on the behaviour of fluorine and steam mixtures has been resolved. |
